Hong Kong Students Science Project Competition 2014

Two chemistry research teams entered the Hong Kong Students Science Project Competition 2014 at Hong Kong Science Park on 10th of May. There were more than 200 teams of participants coming from different secondary schools in Hong Kong joining the competition. By using the researchs entitled “Authentication of Common Chinese Medicine Using Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) Spectrometer” and “E-invigilator”, both teams obtained the most popular scientific research award. The team members are AU LEONG CHIT, CHAN YUEN MAN, IP SUI CHING, LAW TSZ KIT, LIMBU UPINDRA, LO KA KA, MD ZAHIR HASAN, SINGH AKASHDEEP, TO WANG LEUNG and LEUNG HO YEUNG from 4S1. Congratulation to the effort made by all research team members, as well as all science teachers in NPL College.
Moreover, our Chinese Medicine research team was invited to join the 3rd Royal Society of Chemistry Younger Members Symposium held at the University of Birmingham, England in late-June. We hope they can bring back inspiring ideas in scientific research to all of us.
